AHRC Design in Innovation: Research Development funding
2013-09-06 Funding Opportunities
This call is aimed at supporting groups of researchers (including academics, design practitioners, businesses and any other relevant non-academic organisations or individuals) to be able to hold exploratory workshops, networking and collaborative activities, or conduct original research reviews, scoping studies or capacity building activities. This call is aimed at supporting research development activities at an earlier stage than is usually the case under other AHRC schemes such as the Research Networking scheme.
Funding of up to £50,000 is available on full economic costs basis with the AHRC meeting 80% of the FEC. Awards should last for a maximum of 6 months and will be expected to start in February or March 2014 and be completed by the end of October 2014.
We expect to invite the successful applicants to attend a workshop in late 2104 along with award holders funded under our Research Networking and Fellowships schemes and relevant projects funded under our standard responsive mode schemes that address issues pertinent to Design. The aim of this workshop will be to identify any themes, gaps and new opportunities that would benefit from further investigation in larger research projects.

The AHRC works with the UK SBS (Shared Business Service) to deliver all of our funding activities.
