Speech Acts

2012-11-27 Henry Rogers

(2012 - ink on paper A3) This work is derived from the blacking out of words encircled for further consideration as one might circle a profile on a personal ad. The intention was to think through what it means to erase actual words and how this might change the impression of what it is we see, the words become implicit and implicated in that the forms, the black shapes, render any such readability precarious, while manifesting as starkly graphic.
