The book-paintings are sculptural objects that consist of painterly and textual spaces that transcend the physical structure of the book and the pages themselves. Building on Cixous, Irigaray and Kristeva’s practice and concept of l’écriture féminine, the book-paintings rethink the space of painting, moving beyond the canvas frame to the textual space of the book and blurring material and textual systems of signification.
