‘Researchstallation’ was constructed over the course of a week, evolving performatively within the gallery space. Different elements of the work such as strips of text and multiple projections were layered together resulting in an intertextual and intermaterial spatiality that had to be physically negotiated by the viewer. Moments of excess came into being in the work, manifesting as areas of text overflowing into the space and other spaces that were not fully accessible. The work built on mapping strategies used within my research and in other textstallations to spatially and temporally interconnect ideas and allow new ones to emerge in the processes of making and writing. As well as developing as an installation, it was thus also a methodological strategy allowing theoretical and practical ideas to emerge during the process of making and negotiating the work.
